Founded in 1997 by Dana Pastula in Makawao, Maui, Cafe O'Lei started as a quaint 5-table outdoor café offering sandwiches, salads, and beverages. Soon after, her husband Mike, an experienced chef with stints at prestigious hotels, joined her to focus on growing the business. The Cafe O'Lei brand rapidly transformed into one of Maui's most beloved and reliable dining and catering options.

Now a true family affair, their daughters and sons-in-law hold key roles in the company, and even their grandsons serve as enthusiastic food critics. With multiple locations including Cafe O'Lei Kihei, the restaurant remains a family-owned and operated staple in Maui's culinary scene.
